LYRICS

It was late on a chill December night
And I was running a load of hog feed out of Toledo
I never felt so lost or alone
My wife Misty had been calling 20 times a day since Id left Texarkana
And I never called back once
She just aint been the same since her puppy died
I never had much use for the mutt myself, crappin all over the damn house
Anyway somewhere about 10 miles outside of Dayton my cellphone rang again
and I swear I was about to toss the damn thing out the window
When a neon sign pierced the black night
Promisin refuge from the endless highway
I pulled over and I went inside

I wasTouched by a Stranger
In soft candlelight
That small hint of danger
Made me feel so alive
She brought something out of me
I forgot I had
One night of sweet bliss without even a kiss
I wasTouched by a Stranger

I walked in and took a look around
The carpet was worn and forlorn
And the wood panel was peelin offa the wall
This place sure had seen better days
I was fixin to split right then and there
When in the corner of the room, there she was
Raven black hair, cheekbones high as an Arkansas sky
Skin like silk, and mysterious almond eyes
She took me by the arm and together we walked through a hangin bead curtain
She whispered to me, "you dont have to say anything"
And then she took me in her hand

(sounds of carnal delight)

I started to say, "I love you: but she just said "forty dorrah"
And before I knew it I found myself alone again under the stars
Crossin the parkin lot back to my rig
There was a cool fog rollin in over Beaver Creek
And I looked up and saw a blinkin star
Suddenly, I saw Mistys face in my mind and
I knew then that everything that really mattered to me was waitin back home In Texarkana
